photosketchbook of a Pole in Ireland

symmetry, Paris

a very old photo of mine - two homeless people sleeping outside Louvre Museum. it seems like even them, being so close to such a collection of art, seem obliged to follow certain aesthetic rules.
------------
meanwhile, venividi photoblog is taking a first long break. we are going for six weeks to South America and sincerely intend to stay away from any computer during this time. see you all in a while!

crows and towers, Przemysl and Cork crows and towers, Przemysl and Cork

two churches and their towers: the cathedral in Przemysl on the first photo and St. Nicholas's Church in Cork on the second.
and two crows, polish and irish (most probably, although a possibility of one crow with fondness for long distance travels and near-church resting locations cannot be entirely dismissed).
photos were taken in december and january (accordingly), hence their general gloominess.

nuns in Przemysl

eleven of them, precisely. one more, and it would be a dozen! quite a strong patrol, anyway.

Popes Quay at night

as seen from Shandon Bridge. this photo was taken last december, at 4:39 in the morning, while i was coming back from Hop Island Christmas party. a tripod would be useful for such shot, but since i had not quite yet developed the habit of carrying a tripod with me to places where a dancefloor is involved, the bridge railing had to do.

waves at Brandon Creek

just like exactly two years ago - something powerful and sunny for the very beginning of the New Year. Happy 2010, whoever is watching!
the photo was taken very close to Brandon Creek, far west into Dingle Peninsula.

a Christmas gondolier

a Venetian gondolier in a Christmas hat - this is a photo from Christmas Eve three years ago.
tomorrow i fly to Poland, to spend Christmas with family for the first time in four years (and how many times can you use a word 'Christmas' in such a short note? Christmas Christmas.)

Little Skellig

as seen from the rocky pier on Skellig Michael, or the Great Skellig. all this white cover is not snow, as one might think, but birds. Gannets, to be precise and around sixty thousand of them. Quite crowded.
