Good picture? I'd rather say - wonderful, amazing picture! Play of light and shadows, mentioned by Jeremy, would be nothing without the big, mysterious mountain marking the horizon line. I'm impressed.

Now, when you've said that, I realize - some "photographers" take a picture of mountain and what you see is simply a big stone. But here! It constitutes a breathtaking balance between rough and raw rocks to the left and the smooth, trees covered ones to the right. Wow!

You' re absolutely right! But we may look at this picture from the other way - one part of it is fully realistic (eg. rocks, trees) and the other is rather "poetic" or esoteric (clouds, bright light). This is not a common picture - its a Big Metaphor!

By using the word "esotheric", Philip, you risk stripping this picture of its stunningly convincing touch of reality, which it vibrates with. I'd rather say - the magic of reality with the road straight to the center of beautiful unknown.
